Available Product Types

Procurement managers face different dosing equipment constraints. We provide three distinct physical forms to match your specific silo feeding and dissolution tank setups.

Aluminum Sulphate Flake

Aluminum Sulphate Flake

For municipal water plants with standard dissolution tanks requiring steady, predictable melting rates without bridging in hoppers.

  • Optimal bulk density for standard transport
  • Consistent dissolution curve
  • Standard 16-17% Al₂O₃ specification
Aluminum Sulphate Granules

Aluminium Sulphate Granules

Facilities utilizing automated screw feeders require materials that flow freely. Granules prevent caking and reduce dust during manual or automated loading.

  • Low dust generation for safer handling
  • Excellent flowability for auto-dosing
  • Stable storage characteristics in humid climates
Aluminum Sulphate Powder

Aluminum Sulphate Powder

Industrial processes requiring immediate chemical reaction and rapid dispersion, such as specialized paper sizing or specific chemical compounding.

  • Maximum surface area for rapid reaction
  • Non-iron grade available for color-sensitive uses
  • Suitable for dry blending formulations

Common Water Treatment Challenges

Plant operators frequently encounter raw water fluctuations that disrupt clarification efficiency. Our Aluminum Sulphate provides a stable coagulation response to these variables.

High Turbidity Spikes

During heavy rainfall, raw water turbidity exceeds clarifier design limits, causing poor clarification efficiency and filter blinding.

Excessive Chemical Cost

Low-concentration coagulants require massive dosing volumes, increasing logistics costs and sludge disposal expenses.

Unstable Water Quality

Inconsistent raw material from suppliers leads to fluctuating pH levels and difficulty meeting strict effluent discharge parameters.

Slow Flocculation

Poorly formed, lightweight flocs settle too slowly, reducing the overall hydraulic capacity of the treatment plant.

Why Our Aluminum Sulphate Works

By maintaining a strict 16%-17% Al₂O₃ concentration and low iron content (≤0.5%), our product ensures a dense, heavy floc formation. This structure captures suspended solids rapidly, overcoming slow settling times even in low-temperature water conditions.

  • Reduces required dosing volume by up to 15%
  • Accelerates sedimentation speed in clarifiers
  • Maintains stable pH for compliant discharge

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical insights for procurement and plant engineering teams.

What Is Aluminum Sulphate (CAS 10043-01-3)?
Aluminum Sulphate, chemically represented as Al₂(SO₄)₃, is a highly water-soluble chemical compound. In industrial applications, it is primarily manufactured by reacting bauxite ore with sulfuric acid. It serves as a fundamental coagulant in water purification and a sizing agent in the paper manufacturing industry.
What Is Aluminum Sulphate Used For?
It has four primary industrial applications:
1. Water Treatment: Coagulates suspended impurities into larger flocs for easier filtration.
2. Wastewater Treatment: Removes phosphorus and clarifies industrial effluent.
3. Paper Industry: Precipitates rosin size onto paper fibers, improving water resistance.
4. Agriculture: Lowers the pH of alkaline soils, creating better growing conditions for acid-loving crops.
Aluminum Sulphate vs Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC)?
While both are coagulants, they differ in operational constraints. Aluminum Sulphate is generally more cost-effective per ton but requires a narrower pH range (typically 5.5-7.5) to function optimally. PAC (Poly Aluminium Chloride) operates over a wider pH range and forms flocs faster, but at a higher procurement cost. For standard municipal water with stable pH, Aluminum Sulphate remains the economical choice.
How To Choose The Right Grade of Aluminum Sulphate?
Selection depends on your application constraint:
  • Al₂O₃ Content: Standard industrial grade is 16-17%. Higher content means lower dosing volume.
  • Iron Content: For drinking water or high-grade paper, choose "Non-Iron" grade (Fe ≤ 0.005%) to prevent yellowing. For wastewater, standard grade (Fe ≤ 0.5%) is sufficient and more economical.
  • Form Type: Choose Flake for standard tanks, Granules for automated feeders (low dust), and Powder for rapid dry blending.
Is Aluminum Sulphate Safe For Drinking Water Treatment?
Yes. When dosed correctly in municipal treatment facilities, the aluminum ions precipitate out as aluminum hydroxide floc, which is then filtered out of the water. The residual aluminum in the final drinking water is strictly regulated and remains well below WHO safety guidelines.
